About Food Group Sorting For Kids

Food Group Sorting for Kids is an important tool for helping kids learn about the 5 major food groups and which foods belong to each group. The 5 major food groups are dairy, fruits, grains, proteins, and vegetables. Additionally, this tool helps kids practice the skill of sorting items in a group. The functionality of this app aligns to the following Common Core State Standards: CCSS.MATH.CONTENT.K.MD.B.3 Classify objects into given categories; count the numbers of objects in each category and sort the categories by count. CCSS.ELA-LITERACY.L.K.5.A Sort common objects into categories (e.g., shapes, foods) to gain a sense of the concepts the categories represent.
