About Gita Press

Propagation of Gita was the vow of life of Brahmalina Jayadayal Goyandka (Sethji), the founder of Gitapress. He was desirous of whatever he has been enlightened by Gita, should be spread over for the benefit of all human beings. To fulfill this motive Gitapress was established in Vikram Samvat 1980 (1923) in the month of May. It is registered under Registration of Society Act in the name of Gobind Bhawan -Karyalaya, Kolkata as a foremost religious organization. Its management and administration is controlled by the Trust Board. Main function of Gitapress is to provide religious books at reasonably low price. Though the price of books are fixed even lower to the actual cost but organization does not accept any donation or financial assistance from anyone.
