How to always have the right catch at your fingertips? Target audience: This application is for anyone who enjoys recreational sea fishing in France, the North Sea, the English Channel, the Atlantic Ocean, and the Mediterranean Sea, and is subject to current regulations, regardless of their fishing method: surfcasting and shore fishing, fishing from the shore, from a boat, or with lures. The information contained in LaMaille includes: - A list of all fish, shellfish, and crustacean species covered by French or European national legislation, or featured in an article on www.opalesurfcasting.net - in alphabetical order - from Common Dogfish to Atlantic Sailfish. Access it with a single click. The list scrolls by simply swiping your thumb and allows you to select the species with a second click. - For each species, the applicable European and French legislation regarding recreational sea fishing regulations is indicated. -- Minimum catch size (legal size or mesh size) - if this provision exists -- Quota for fish - if this provision exists -- Specific management - if it exists -- Group for shellfish -- Fishing ban - if this provision exists at the national or European level -- Other specific provisions for a species at the national or European level -- Display of a photograph in the species profile (if enabled in the application preferences). An internet or Wi-Fi connection is required for the first display. The photograph is then cached. Updates to the information contained in LaMaille: - This information will be updated at the same rate as that published on opalesurfcasting.net. How it works: Aside from the initial installation, application updates, and the first image download, LaMaille operates without requiring a 3G, 4G, or Wi-Fi connection. LaMaille works on all versions of Android, from version 2.3 (Android Gingerbread) onwards, meaning it's compatible with all Android smartphones and tablets released since May 2010 (over 14,000 models). This allows you to repurpose your old smartphone or tablet if you wish. LaMaille will continue to evolve with new Android versions. Future or ongoing developments: - Implementation of a tool to help identify listed species, adapted to the application's user interface – making it visual, simple, and intuitive - Implementation of a centralized and geolocation tool to comply with local regulations, particularly regarding shellfish harvesting (shellfish farming area classification, nature reserves, management orders, etc.) - Dissemination of health alerts - And of course, the usual minor adjustments to ultimately create a comprehensive guide to the rights and responsibilities of recreational fishers. This will be the extent of the improvements; for fishing, anglers prefer to rely on their instinct, knowledge, and curiosity. - Launch of a paid version, LaMaille – €1, to support and accelerate development.
